The couture house of Rochas has just confirmed that its head designer Marco Zanini will be showcasing the label's spring 2010 collection with a Paris fashion week runway show. The designer's first collection was shown not on the runway, but through a presentation at the Marais last March. The designer was received with stellar reviews and as a result, fashion media have been highly anticipating his next collection. The Rochas show will kick off fashion week in Paris on September 30th at 5:00 in the evening. It will take place at the Musée de l'homme near the Trocadero.
The show can be attributed, in part, to the overwhelming support the label has received from Gibò Co. SpA, which operates the Rochas ready-to-wear license for parent company Procter & Gamble. President of Gibo, Franco Penè, hired Zanini himself after seeing his work for the designer's previous houses Halston and Versace. Zanini signed on in November 2008 after the label had taken a break from making ready wear creations, a hiatus due to the departure of former head Olivier Theyskens in the summer of 2006.
