It’s that time of year when people blow into the Windy City for Chicago’s most coveted summer music festival, Lollapalooza. Next weekend Grant Park will be transformed into live jukebox, filled with an eclectic array of bands, celebrities, hipsters, and music lovers alike.
Music festival fashion is unique—instead of turning to the runway for inspiration, you can be inspired by fellow concert go-ers. These festivals allow their crowds to freely express themselves through music, dance, and fashion. Music festivals are now the place to see-and-be-seen for the fashion-conscious (and if you make it into Style.com’s ‘Style Notes’ section, then you know you’re a true fashionista!). What bands you saw at Lollapalooza is almost as important as what you wore that weekend…
The easiest and most effective way to make a statement is with your hair flair. Festival favorites include fedoras, large straw hats, hippie headbands, and feather clip-ins.
It’s summer. It’s Lollapalooza. Black is just too boring for this occasion. Enough said.
An absolute necessity as—weather permitting—you’ll be in the sun all day long! Forget the ubiquitous Wayfarer and try something crazy— think retro or vintage, something with a little character. (Sunglasses are my absolute most favorite accessory, so I always notice if someone has a better pair than me…)
