Its here! It's here! The runway roster for the 2010 New York Fashion Week has been posted on the Mercedes-Benz official site for the week-long event. The festivities will run from Thursday, September 10th to Thursday, September 17th but technically that first night of fun is reserved for the much-talked about citywide kickoff party, Fashion's Night Out. Sponsored, among others, by Vogue as well as the city itself, Fashion's Night Out will be based solely on taking the flavor of fashion back to the people and getting them excited to shop again. From 6-10 p.m., dozens of retailers and designers will be featuring perhaps one of a kind opportunities including parties, demonstrations (think: Alexander Wang himself giving runway lessons at Barneys), live music, meet and greets, and every other type of spending aphrodisiac beyond the mundane realm of discounting. As one of the sponsors of the bevy of first night activities, editor in chief of Vogue Anna Wintour wanted to keep the actual fashion shows after 6 p.m. to a minimum, if any. So far only one show is slated to take place: Cesar Galindo, at 7 p.m. at the M2 Ultra lounge in the meatpacking district. Now the only problem is, how to be in, say, five places at once??
Other notables in the lineup are Christian Siriano, who will be showing in the tents for another season, not much of a surprise there. Doo.Ri and Isaac
Mizrahi, who usually don't show in the tents, will be showing in the tents
this season. And M.A.C.-sponsored Milk Studios will be having its own "cool kids" party downtown and away from the tents, where Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, ThreeAsFour, Erin Fetherston, and Preen will be
showcasing. That schedule, sadly, has yet to come out, though there reportedly will be shuttles to transport guests from the tents to the studio.
