It’s sophisticated. It’s glamorous. It’s the ultimate chic. And it’s all I want in my closet for the fall. Black, fall’s favorite color, will make its perennial comeback come September 1. Here are the staple trends in shades of noir that I want in my closet for this fall.
There’s nothing cooler this season than a biker jacket. From Gaultier to Go! International at Target, seemingly all designers have a motorcycle jacket in their collections. I’ll take mine studded and distressed to give it even more of that rebel biker chick feel.
LBD with BBS
Translation: little black dress with big, bad shoulders. Designers looked back at the best (or worst?) of the 80s to revamp old trends—including extreme shoulders with extreme emphasis. The LBD has never looked better.
Looking for a new way to add some pop to your outfit? Sequins shine better than patent leather, not to mention they are one of the hottest trends this fall. Don’t be afraid to go all out with the glitz—jackets, dresses, tops, even leggings have become fully embellished this season.
Is there any fall fabric more luxe than velvet? Black velvet screams sophistication. But remember that when wearing this rich fabric, there’s a fine line between looking like a queen and looking like a curtain. Keep you velvet pieces to a minimum; the best way to wear this trend is by accessorizing.
