Fashion Week Daily offered up a tasty tidbit yesterday that Joe Zwee, creative director at Elle magazine, just had dinner with R.J. Cutler, documentarian du jour. Cutler is the director behind the newly released film, The September Issue, which chronicles both glamorous and gritty behind the scenes portrayals of fashion's mammoth mag Vogue. The new film has not even been released nationally yet (us Non-New Yorkers will get it August 28th), but has already generated a huge heaping of hype that seemingly any other mag would die for in this day and age. So perhaps Zwee—along with Elle's editor-in-chief Robbie Myers and fashion news director Anne Slowey—has a trick or two up his designer sleeve for a prospective sequel. A September Issue Elle-version……it could be worth its weight, if nothing else for comparative purposes between the two magazine matriarchs—Vogue's famously intolerant Anna Wintour and Elle's more camera-shy, and (debatably) relentable Myers. Bring on the couture-clad cage match!
