I'm sure many of you remember when our very own Second City Style Pret Reporteur writer Gabbie Perez wrote about current fashion imitating and who hasn't seen those busy prints, geometric shapes, architectural and structured cuts, and the haute couture stylings of amazing designers who make a model in a garbage bag look utterly appealing.
It turns out celebs are in on the trend too–from the statuesque way they pose to canvas they become for their favorite designer's creations.
Here's how celebs themselves are fashion imitating art.
Take a look at Miss Posh Spice, the poser–and we mean that in the nicest way possible! Whether it's her own line or a fashionable debonair pencil skirt from Marc Jacobs himself, Victoria Beckham makes every tight fitting item she places on her petite little body a piece of fashion art glory!
Bar Refaeli's body is a canvas–for the GQ magazine that is. Quite similar to a photo we found of Joss Stone back in 2007.
Fortunately, fashion art is all about covering yourself in body paint. It's also about letting it speak on your clothes in busy prints by patterned girls like Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton. Best examples we've seen yet: the brushstrokes and artsy stripes on Leslie Mann and Ginnifer Goodwin.
You can't forget the sculpted shoulders of this season's architectural look. Certainly Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham, Anna Wintour and Michelle Monaghan haven't forgotten it.
And then there are the cartoonish ways of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Somehow, this still reminds us of origami and oil paintings and technicolor and sculptured pieces. Anyone who can pull these looks off can definitely be in this category. It's really just Andy Warhol pop art come to life!
And here we thought Katy Perry was daring!
