This is a neat idea: Target is reaching new heights stylistically with its latest recycling campaign, taking place in Times Square. Starting this coming Labor Day weekend and running until October 31st, the retailer will be featuring commissioned art from breakthrough artists Michael Anderson and Josh Goldstein on its Times Square billboards. Following the funky pop art exhibit, the company will then be transforming the actual vinyl from the billboards into 1,600 limited-edition upcycled bags designed by artist, designer, and recent Target collaborator, Anna Sui. Each bag will be made of 90% recycled flex bulletin vinyl and will feature rock style accents like black enameled studs. The tote bags, which are already being called the next eco-friendly 'It" bag will be available for purchase for $29.99 on September 4th while supplies last. Customers can actually choose which artist's work they prefer to have their recycled bag made out of! The bags will be shipped to buyers in January.
Purchase your own Target recycled tote bag and own a piece of one of New York's most famous neighborhoods. Visit Target.com/billboardbag on September 4th to purchase while supplies last!
