The latest collaboration of travel and style will be geared toward a very good cause. Accessory Network LLC, a popular brand of luggage and other travel accessories, announced yesterday it will be teaming up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. The two companies will be launching the "Hope Travel Collection", a line of duffle bags, travel totes, and wheeled uprights featuring the pink Komen ribbon logo in the design. Accessory Network Group has pledged to donate 15% of the wholesale cost of each travel piece purchased between August 31st, 2009 and September 30th, 2010 to Komen for the Cure, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $50,000.
The collection will be sold in two or three piece sets or individually, and will be offered in both plain black or in two signature ribbon prints. The pieces will retail mostly from $39.95 to $149.99, with a foldable tote available for under $10. The "Hope Travel Collection" will debut officially in October throughout mid-tier department, specialty, and travel stores participating in National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
"This travel collection will allow breast health messages to reach those near and far," said Katrina McGhee, VP of Global Partnerships at Komen. "Partners like Accessory Network Group enable us to share our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever with women across the globe, helping us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer."
