NY Fashion Week Spring ’10. The Celebrity Hipster Returns!

September 12, 2009 • New York Fashion Week Spring '10

Call them eccentric, call them hip. Theses celebs know the true meaning of hipster…even if it means remaining casual while everyone else is dressing to the nines…or trying something truly eccentric that works.

Too cool for school?

Hipster: Hipster is a slang term that appeared in the 1940s. In the
1990s and 2000s, it was used in various, sometimes contradictory ways,
often to describe types of young, recently-settled urban middle class adults and older teenagers with interests in non-mainstream fasihon and culture.

It is difficult to give a precise definition of "hipster culture"
because it is a "mutating, trans-Atlantic melting pot of styles, tastes
and behavior[s].

Got that right!
