Summary: Maybe it was the sound of the samba music or perhaps it was the bright colors the show opened with, but Brazilian designer Carlos Miele's Spring '10 collection was both calming and optimistic. I'm betting the unique boleros and leather high heel sandals will be a hit, as will Look #1 – a pink dégradé silk chiffon mini dress. The most interesting part of the collection was the "dreadlocks", corded and weaved trims (slightly similar to rope), that lined his vests and gowns. It added a lovely richness and unexpectedness to each piece. Also right on trend were an emphasis on strong shoulders, a touch of fringe and hot one-shoulder looks.

Color Palette: Pinks, nude, gold, guava, black, pewter, beige, violet, green, turquoise.

Textures & Details: Silk chiffon, wool, dark denim, snake print, charmeuse, embroidery, dreadlock detail.

Key Looks: Snake print stretch charmeuse mini dress with asymmetric embroidery detail; black cotton tulle t-shirt with black silk corset with pleated detail and black tropical wool mini skirt; violet and green dégradé silk chiffon pleated gown.
