Summary: You have to give Marc Jacobs credit. He is anything but boring. God forbid you wear an all black boring ensemble around him. While everybody is going back to black, Marc wants to remind us that fashion should be fun, damn it! For fall '09 he was all about the 80's for Spring '10 he was all over the place. You couldn't really pin down one trend, but you could weave together a pattern that looks like this: an operatic kabuki faced sex-kitten who clubed it to Malcom McClaren's Madame Butterfly (the 80's version). This was most assuredly a trip to the theater…Marc Jacobs style.
There were ruffles, lingerie as outerwear, pearl encrusted frocks, long belted skirts, handkerchief dresses, military suits, lace coats…the list goes on. If nothing worked for you there, you need to look no further than the accessories which were, well, amazing. The huge leather bags with long straps and even longer fringe are sure to be sell-outs.
