Badgley Mischka
has long been known for their elegant and glamorous evening wear, but in 2010 they are coming clean. With their faces, that is. Head MAC makeup artist, Tom Pecheux, explained that his inspiration was a "global mixture," drawing from the Japanese, French, and Americans. Taking their main cue from French actress, Romy Schneider in the 1969 film The Swimming Pool (or La Piscine) Pecheux mixes fresh faced elegance with the American glamour of Audrey Hepburn; a look unmistakably appropriate for the effortlessly chic Badgley Mischka brand.

Reminiscent of the young rich girl who vacations in St. Tropez, the look for the show featured a simple face, cheeks dotted with bronzer and MAC Shimpagne. Lips were dabbed with MAC World lip pencil and eyes were touched with MAC Nanogold, a shimmery light/whitish pink. Eyebrows were brightened with a tinted polish to heighten a sensual eye. The main attraction, however, was sultry cat eyes achieved with MAC black liquid eyeliner. With a brush and the top of his hand, Pecheux demonstrated the perfect cat eye (careful to stress that it is "all one motion"). He recommends starting the line where lashes begin and follow the curve of the eye. Start with the point of the tip for a very thin stroke. As you thicken the line press the brush harder on the lash line, ending your cat eye with a fluid and flirty brush upward for "finesse, density, and softness." When asked what advice Pecheux could give for the average girl looking to achieve this look he smiled and said, "Lots of practice."

Hair was styled by Redken stylist Peter Gray. "It's all about the sections," Gray noted. First he blow-dryed the model's locks with mousse. Then worked section by section to achieve a sleek, sexy, updated ponytail. The top was lifted with body while the sides were slicked tightly against the head. Using a large stitching needle, strands of hair were wrapped around the base of the pontytail for a clean finish. Dashing Diva painted nails with a simple, light beige, She.E.O.
