Summary: Kit Willow's inspiration for Eternal Phi, the Willow Spring-Summer 2010 Collection, was Australia's Great Barrier Reef, drawing silhouettes, color, texture and beauty from this natural wonder of the world.
This theme was evident in the lovely palette of sand, pearl, vivid ocean blue and the use of gold metallic trims, and delicate shell embellishments on many of the pieces, notably the tops and soft and structured suit jackets. The collection flowed and took you to that deep under sea with soft luxurious fabrics, wavy hems and spiraling sea shell shapes. The collection offered relaxed dressing with lovely embellishments and details that a woman can cherish for years. The jacket was a stand-out with high armed tailoring with rounded padded shoulders, a high neck and 3/4 sleeves encrusted in metallic beading and shell embellishment.
Shoes were sky-high platform booties in leather and suede, skin tone, gray, and a hint of yellow, that opened like a sea clam and elongated the silhouette. My only disappointment in this show was the models did not do an encore run, since I wanted to see these pieces float by once again in their entirety.
