Pritte Clever, pronounced “pretty clever”, hosted Summer’s Fall Fashion Show Case this past Saturday, September 12, at the Boat House at 6300 S. Lake Shore Dr. in Chicago. The fashion show featured garments from local designers including 828 by Suzette Opara, Emee by Sharmeta Martin and a collection from Personal Privilege, a men’s and women’s clothing boutique located in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. The clothing celebrated the best trends summer had to offer and what we can expect from the designers’ fall collections.
The Boat House was the perfect venue for such a fashion filled night. The warm sunny day eased into a cool evening with light breezes blowing in off the lake, creating a dramatic flair as models strutted down the runway, clothing floating and billowing about their trim forms. Some of my favorite pieces from the night included light-weight vests from the Emee collection that came in varying lengths, colors and patterns. The most memorable part of the night was when the last model came down the runway wearing a form fitting white dress and a head piece made of leaves and twigs as well as make-up which heavily indicated fall is on its way.
The evening wasn’t all about fashion, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales were to benefit spina bifida and also help pay for a local woman’s chemotherapy treatments. For more information about the fashion designers or Pritte Clever visit pritteclever.com.
