The fall season brings on the anticipation of cool crisp air, fallen leaves and the extreme excitement of entering into the most fashionable of seasons. My favorite aspect of fall is usually the emphasis on footwear. And in this season in particular, I’m ecstatic that extra attention has been given to the over-the-knee boot.
One of my constant complaints about the knee-high boot is not that it’s unfashionable or that it doesn’t possess that type of feminine power and prowess I so love to flaunt – it’s that it just never actually comes up to my knee.
The knee-high boot on most women 5’6†and over should actually be termed, “above-the-calf†boot. Not that there’s anything wrong with that height. However the truth of the matter is that the over-the-knee boot actually goes over the knee!
For instance, the calf-boot usually only hits mid-calf or lower. The bootie most times extends over the ankle. And the knee-high boot just can’t quite reach the knee. Some of my favorite boots are at times misstated in title. Yet this is the first boot style to be 100% constant in the promise of its height. Now that is what I call dependability.
With the never-ending presence of the mini skirt and dress, I can’t find anything that makes that mod look super powerful and sexy than the addition of the over-the-knee boot. Even imagining the chunky sweater and jeans with a pair of these boots sends me into fall fashion ecstasy.
Of course I won’t ignore my other boots of varying length this fall season. However they may not get as much strut-time as a few of my upcoming boots-to-be.
