Its officially fall outside and with the seasons (and now the leaves) changing, its prime time for designers to be launching new partnerships and collaborative deals before the holiday season. One of the more unusual teams currently being forged is between Comme des Garcons' media elusive chief Rei Kawakubo and none other than, The Beatles. Kawakubo's label and Apple Corps Ltd., the company based out of London that manages and handles the classic music catalog of the Fab Four, are in the works of designing a line of bags under a new The Beatles/Comme des Garcons label. The collection of handbags, the styles of which are still unclear, will first hit stores in mid-November at Dover Street Market, Kawakubo’s multi-brand emporium in London, and Gyre in Tokyo, with later stores to be revealed. The two companies are still hush hush about any possible extensions of the collection, though WWD reported that Comme des Garcons deal with Apple Corps will be long term and that apparel could also eventually be in the mix.
