Last month when the announcement was made that Isaac Mizrahi would be launching his own show on QVC, there were some perfectly arched eyebrows raised within the industry at first. Then we all realized there was no better outlet for him to run rampant with his cheesecake designs and homemade poutpourris. But today the news broke that Badgley Mischka’s Mark Badgley and James Mischka could be in the works of penning a deal with, of all things, the Home Shopping Network. What is the world coming to?! According to inside sources, the designer duo has been in talks with the home
shopping network to create a special lifestyle collection, which could
launch as early as this fall. HSN currently fashion collections by designers such as Loulou de la Falaise, Randolph Duke and Tina Knowles and in November will launch a special fashion jewelry collection by Molly Sims, though reps for the network say the inclusion of Badgley Mischka will, according to WWD, "further up the network’s fashion quotient." Um, I should think so! Why should Badgley Mischka even pretend to hold designer ranks with the likes of Style channel hosts and Beyonce's mom? After having great seats at their amazing spring 2010 show in Bryant Park, I now feel a special kinship with the label and as such, am wholeheartedly against this project. Don't give in guys!
