Everyone is talking about Lindsay Lohan (what else is new?) this week as Paris Fashion Week heats up. The starlet's newly minted role as artistic adviser at Emanuel Ungaro will be showcased this coming Sunday in the form of a collaborative collection she created with new head designer Estrella Archs. Lohan is reportedly in Paris now getting comfy in her new professional digs despite swirling rumors that she was already on the outs. In fact, Lohan claims via Twitter that she's busy working on the guest list for this weekend's show and is determined to get the likes of Miley Cyrus and Sarah Silverman in her front row.
And while, as a celebrity, Lohan may be able to secure certain other celebrities, there are some key members of the industry that will not be attending. This morning a report dropped that several buyers declined Ungaro's invitation due solely to LiLo's participation in the show. And if that wasn't enough to scathe someone's ego, when New York Magazine asked Tim Gunn, who sang Lohan's praises as a guest judge on season 6 of Project Runway, what he thought of her artistic adviser role, Gunn said plainly, "It’s got to be a publicity stunt! Or a crack-smoking board of directors?” Ironically enough, Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige claims that his decision to pick Lohan over other celebs of her headline-making caliber was due largely in part to Gunn's onetime inspiring comments of her knowledge of the industry. "This was authentic, not the paparazzi press all talking about her car
accidents, or the drug things," Moufarrige said. "To be complimented
by someone like Tim Gunn was very impressive." Whether or not Gunn still feels the same way, let's hope for LiLo's sake that her artistic skills will be just as authentic as his former comments come Sunday, or she may become the laughing stock of Paris Fashion Week.
