Summary: Alber Elbaz for Lanvin shows us once again that he is a complete and utter genius. A collection resplendent with technical mastery: draping, beading, and structure galore, Elbaz’s looks built up an unbelievable impact as they moved down the runway. Although the show began a bit slow, with the first looks comprised primarily of black, ruffled, body-conscious dresses, the collection jolted forward and became a sea of impeccably-styled gilded dreams, erupting with color and glitz. The beautiful thing about Elbaz is the way that his clothing communicates the designer’s desire to make women look beautiful. And there’s not a look from this collection that wouldn’t make you feel like the most glamorous, chic and fabulously styled woman in the room. One of the most outstanding highlights of Paris Fashion Week thus far, this is a collection sure to be remembered.
