Seasons In Transition: From Summer To Fall

Summer is officially over, but in most of the country it is still
warm enough to go outside without a jacket, and even bare legs don't
seem outside the realm of possibility. However, cozy fall knits,
tailored jackets and brand new boots are calling your name, and your
warm weather wardrobe seems rather blah. Ah yes, it is time for your transitional wardrobe again.

The key to shifting seasons with style is staying away from anything that screams summer or winter too loudly. Put away the pastels and the tropical brights, and hold the velvet, the wool scarves, and anything furry for now. Color, texture, and layering are key – and without further adieu, here are our favorite transitional pieces.

The Boot – There's nothing like buying a
fabulous pair of boots when it starts cooling down, and nothing will
take your summer pieces into autumn like a chic new pair. These ZiGiNY Cassie gray suede boots
would anchor light skirts and dresses, look casually perfect with
denim, and the studded details are right on trend (and they are a
relative steal at $200).

The Jacket – Boyfriend blazers are one of fall's
biggest stories, but if you don't want to go slouchy, try something
sharply tailored and nipped in with a military edge. Something like
this Burberry military jacket is much more flattering to a woman's curves than that borrowed-from-the-boys look.
