As the dust continues to settle around the disaster that was Lindsay Lohan's debut collection for Emanuel Ungaro, the actress/disaster magnet is starting to cry fowl. Lohan has been unmercifully dogged by the fashion world since her first attempt as 'artistic advisor' for the Ungaro house manifested itself in a tragic collection of heart prints and pasties. In Paris, no less. But now that the media wants to know how such a collection could come to fruition, Lohan is blaming just about everything; except her own creative abilities. She told PEOPLE recently that failure of her line was caused by “coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection.” Right. This is quite a different tune than Lohan sang immediately following the show when she likened the experience to "a fairytale" and lauded Ungaro's lead designer and her collaborator, Estrella Archs, for her ability to pull together such a well rounded show. "I feel so honored,” Lohan told PEOPLE directly after her show. “I can’t wait to be involved
again, to be more involved on the next collections, to continue to
please people, add more to the designs, to shock people…” Well at least the shock part was right, as in, the general reaction when Lohan was signed in the first place.
When asked about the now notorious addition of the tassle pasties that graced the nipples of several models in Lohan's show to the chagrin of fashion elite everywhere), Lohan also conveniently squeezed herself out of the equation, saying, "I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out … I am learning." Well, like any good student she should take note of her mistakes and do better next time. Unfortunately, this may actually happen since Lohan has promised to be back on the Paris runways for next season. After all, shying away from further humiliation has never been her strong point!
