Those of you who mourned the loss of Tom Ford from the fashion scene can now breathe a sigh of relief: WWD reports that he is going to do a Tom Ford Women's Line, just as soon as he can find financial backing.
"Financing is extremely expensive right now, so if we find financing in the right situation we'll be able to start soon. If we don't, we may have to wait awhile," he said. "You know it will take me 18 months when I start, because [I have] to hire a team, find the factories, put everything together and then get the stores ready so there's a place for these clothes.
Though he is currently in Tokyo promoting his movie, A Single Man, there are reports that Ford and his business partner Domenico De Sole are looking for $50 million or more under the guidance of Credit Suisse.
"Things are getting better every day in most places. So I'm optimistic and this is something that I plan on doing for the next 30 years of my life, so if I have to wait another six months or a year, it's OK," he said.
We agree. We couldn't be more excited!
