Michelle Obama Poses for Glamour!

Christmas has come early!

In their short time in office so far, we have seen many bold firsts from the First Couple that have had us going, "Why hasn't this been done before?" President Obama's appearance on late night television caused a (mostly positive) stir but we're pretty sure few people will be up in arms about a beautiful spread of our First Lady in the December issue of Glamour. As the first First Lady to do this (if only Jackie O. had broken more rules!), Michelle Obama is once again leading us all into a new chapter of stylish mentor-ship. And Glamour's editor in chief Cindi Leive seems to agree. Leive says in her editor's note for the upcoming issue that the First Lady was asked to grace the December cover not just because of her a style icon status, but because she's passionate crucial issues of today like mentoring children and empowering young women.

In the spread, Obama poses with seven White House interns, each of whom the First Lady greeted warmly by name before the shoot. And as much as we could very well hear her speak on any subject that's troubling the world today, Obama's interview sticks to what we've always wanted to her her dish about: girl stuff!  She touches on her own personal style tips, and we figure she may know a thing or two considering her fashion choices are he most closely followed of arguably anyone in the world today. And ever the mentor, she admittedly notes that her choices have not always been scrutinized positively and therefore advises that women should set their own style standards. she notes, "People are always going to have opinions, and people have a right to
their opinions, particularly when you’re the First Lady; you’re
representing the nation. So I can’t be surprised that people are
interested. But I’ve tried to be at peace with the choices that I make
first, and then be open to everyone else’s reflection."

Obama also dishes on dating, advising to skip the temporary appeal of the "cute guy" and opt instead for a man that "makes you feel completely happy and makes you feel whole." The December Issue of Glamour will hit stands the first week of November.
