Andy Warhol's art is world renowned. He helped to create icons out of Marilyn Monroe and Edie Sedgwick and is synonymous with Studio 54 and all it stood for. This past Friday, Sofia Vintage and Lumen decided to pay tribute to the artist in the second annual "Warhol Factory Party" that featured a fashion show of vintage treasures from Sofia Vintage.
The event was held at Lumen, a swanky lounge in the West Loop. Warhol's classic interpretation of Marilyn Monroe decorated the background, and shiny silver paper lined the windows. Guests were treated to Lumen's signature cocktails while they waited for the fashion show to begin.
Sofia Vintage is a Chicago boutique featuring emerging designers, accessories, and, of course, vintage. Founded by sisters Ashley and Allison Zisok in the Spring of 2009, this Gold Coast boutique gave a fashion show that was a tribute to the spirit of Warhol and a lot of fun. True to the spirit of the era, the perfection was in the details:
Can it get more fabulous than a leopard-print jumpsuit and a black fedora?
Both the fur and cocktail dress are divine. Don't you simply adore the yellow gloves?
The dress is truly Warhol-ian, the boots are for a Chicago winter.
Finally, for the diva in all of us, a true showstopping dress!
