They say there's nothing new under the sun, but for my money, the Target To-Go kiosks opening today (in New York, D.C. and San Francisco–sorry Chicago!) are as unique a shopping experience as I've had in long time. They've come up with a model that marries the ease of internet shopping with the instant gratification of a bricks-and-mortar store: You just walk up, pick out your items from a selection of 50 of their most popular gifts and order by number. And you're done! The gifts come pre-wrapped, and in Manhattan, you can even have your items delivered the same day for free if you spend more than $100. You can also buy gift cards and holiday staples like batteries, scissors and tape.
Target To-Go starts today and is open from 10 am to 8 pm until December 13th. One other (big) bonus: several items from Rodarte's collection for Target are available before they hit stores on December 20th!
