Breakout designer and Oscar de la Renta's adopted son Moises de la Renta announced last year that he would be launching his own clothing line called MDLR. Soon, First Lady Michelle Obama was seen sporting the young designer's threads and before you could say "Gracias!", the designer had been asked to create a collection of t-shirts for Spanish retailer Mango. With free reign to tackle the t-shirt project as he saw fit, Moises chose to whip up a line of tees embellished with jewels, precious stones, and luxe fabrics like tulle. The Dominican-born designer is already being applauded for his creative efforts in creating the line and channeling his own sense of individuality.  On his muse for designing the line, Moises said, “My inspiration for this collection were the traditional romantic
from pretty patchworks with summer flowers in sombre colors,
such as rose, violet, grey and black, to graphic illusions which
combine transparent effects, with shiny gems and adornments in between.” The Moises de la Renta t-shirt collection for Mango hits stores on March 1, 2010 with prices ranging from $36 – $50.

Heidi Klum's new ad for her upcoming maternity lines

In  another design crossover, Project Runway host and four time mom, Heidi Klum, has signed on to help design not one, but two upcoming maternity collections. Klum had also announced recently she would be launching a "pervasive lifestyle collection," causing fashion media to assume it would resemble her trademark Runway style. But the only other thing the supermodel knows as well as walking the runway is pushing a stroller, now that she just had her fourth child with husband Seal. So as it turns out, Klum will be designing two maternity collections instead-one for one for Motherhood Maternity called "Loved," and one for A Pea in the Pod called "Lavish." When asked why she chose the latter line, Klum said, "because there is no grander name to express everything you want to give yourself and the child growing within you." Both her lines will hit stores on February 12.
