How I keep warm? Wearing a lot of faux fur, snowboots, hats and gloves – I mean, isn’t this Winter’s fashion perfect for this cold weather? I have always been ‘the girl wearing Summer clothes in Winter’, not this Winter!
The only thing I need: a Blackberry heater that will heat up the key board – even wearing flip top gloves will not make texting and tweeting possible in this cold!

  2. Jennifer Nguyen says:

It took me awhile to get your joke about keeping warm. Should’ve seen my face when I figured it out. haha!! Anyways, I’m keeping warm or at least trying to with my (hand knitted) cabled cowl, thick mittens, leg warmers, and a huge beret! Did I mention a nice cup of hot chocolate and a scone? Nothing gets better.

  3. Leanne Mohler says:

I’m keeping warm this winter by staying inside as much as possible. My dog snuggles up next to me, too. She’s a miniature dachshund so she is really a “hot” dog!!

  4. Eve says:

Well the best way to keep warm is when my I know you said to keep it clean, I was just playing. But to answer your question, it was so cold here a month ago that I just started wearing more layers. Leggings or knit tights under my pants, multiple sweaters, mittens (yes you read that right, they are warmer than gloves), and ear bands, which I find warmer than ear muffs, shawls, and *shock* Uggs. I know people consider uggs a fashion don’t and my friends make fun of it, lol, but until someone can find me something warmer I will wear them tall and proud lol. I do, however change out of them once I get to where ever I am going, sometimes, like at work I will put on heels, and then back to ugss before I leave the building. And my all time favoerite way to keep warm, Starbucks! Everyday, every morning.

To warm my outside, 4 years ago I recieved a 550 fill goose down parka as a christmas gift. Best GIFT EVER!!!It keeps me toasty warm in the Bitter Chicago winters. I have a warm pair of boots, scarf and gloves to tote.
To warm my inside, I sip on spiced pear black tea.

  6. mj says:

I’m staying warm by doing mt new Pure Barre workout. I have to layer yoga pants over leggings to do it, but I just keep thinking about how fabulous I’m going to look when the weather is warm enough to show off!

  7. Emily says:

I live in southern california… it was 75 today… does that count? 🙂

  8. Faith says:

There’s nothing like a ankle-length wool coat with a hood to keep my hair from getting smashed on the way to work. I have one in red and I love it, it’s sooo elegant. My mirrored aviator sunglasses are so big that they keep most of my face warm too! My guy says the cold is partly in my mind, so I think warm thoughts and wear warm socks around the house. If my feet are warm, the rest of me usually is too!

  9. Kim says:

Tons of layers!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE cardigans =)
Also my North Face and Uggs are helping out a lot as well!

  10. dymphna says:

i’m keeping warm with some crochet hats I made

  11. april says:

I’m 6 feet tall and still have a very hard time finding jeans. This means I wear lots of skirts and dresses even in winter. But I manage to keep warm with lots of layers. Over the knee socks & fingerless gloves are my favorite winter accessories. I pair those with my favorite faux fur and leather coat (I call it my muppet coat) & my super Timberland high heeled lace up boots and a sweater dress. Hot chocolate helps too!

  12. Annie says:

I’ve begun collecting vintage fur! It started by accident…I was helping an older neighbor move out of her house and she paid me with a floor-length fur-collared wool coat. I was stunned by her generosity, but hooked and craved more fur. When I visited my grandmother for Christmas, lo and behold, she too had a gift for me: a seal fur coat from the 60s that she “just didn’t need around any more.” I love my furs, and love sitting in my chilly apartment, mixing my vintage coats with my faux fur hats and watching Dr Zhivago in style!

  13. Lori says:

I am keeping warm with lots of layers!

  14. Elisabeth says:

Keeping warm this winter… hmm… that’s been quite the challenge! It was about 17 degrees outside yesterday when my family and I went out shopping. The best way I have been trying to keep warm is by wearing leggings under all my pants, whether jeans or sweats. I bought a few pairs at American Eagle and they have been saving me! I have also been wearing layers for shirts – I still like to ‘rock out in style’ so I have been wearing long sleeves under my short sleeves shirts which I think gives that ‘wintery look’ and then I’ve been wearing button up hoodies with my favorite double breasted jacket with a scarf to compliment it. To keep my legs extra warm I have been wearing my favorite pair of black boots. Gloves sometimes help too! 🙂

  15. How I keep warm? Well, I do live in SoCal, but to me it’s still cold! So, I always have a ton of blankets when I am inside, no matter what I’m doing. It gets so crazy, my boyfriend has gone through the house looking for me, when I was just sitting at my computer. He thought I was just a pile of blankets lol. I also force my small dogs to sit with me, and I stick my cold feet on their backs 😛

  16. May says:

I like to wear a scarf, black coat, riding boots and thick sweater like tights to stay warm

  17. Crystal Johnson says:

I have a bunch of cute hat/scarf/mitten sets that I love to wear. The hats are indoor and outdoor hats so I don’t have to worry about “helmet head” when I get inside and the scarves make great accessories with any outfit! There are so many great winter accessories out there now, it is no longer a challenge to stay cute and warm all winter long! Even in Minnesota’s below zero weather…

  18. OMG? I live in Miami….and I can’t believe I’m saying this… BUT IT’S FREEZING HERE! yeah… sunny state.. spring break city!… it was extremely cold this weekend!… 33 F.. ridicolous right!….
I’m from South America.. I have never in my life lived in a cold city!….and it has being really hard for me to know how to “get warm”… I’m not used to layers or boots! (at al!!)….that’s why I would love to win this so bad…. (it could really help)
back 2 the question.. how am I keeping myself warm? ( ok I forgot!.. houses in Miami does not have heaters!!!)…. I didn’t have anything in my I went as fast as I could t the mall… bought a coat, a pair of flat boots, and a scarf!!… the basics!
also… hot chocolate + marshmellows + snuggie + a movie = perfect combination to get warm!

  19. JoAnne Monroe says:

Ways I stay warm during the Cali winter:
I am a big fan of knee high nylons, they help give a more sophisticated look to a skirt and heels. I also love blazers, I have tons in many colors, including yellow [to beat the winter blahs.]. Barrets are a new addition to my cold weather wardrobe. And of course, scarves are a must [knitting them is just as fun as wearing them. :)]
Hot tea with lemon and honey helps keep the body warm & battles sore throats. <3
And my M&M fleece blanket is a must for bedtime. 🙂

  20. cheyenne says:

I stay warm in the winter by wearing cute scarves in different prints, gloves, Uggs, skinny jeans, and a brown jacket with fur in the hood. I also love drinking hot chocolate with candy canes on the side:) i love dressing warm all winter and when i’m not at school, i usually wear sweat pants and college sweat shirts:))) and i always gotta have my snuggie haha.

  21. MyMarkRep says:

I keep the humidifier going. Humidified air makes you feel warmer and your skin better. I try not to bundle up to early in the season so my body can acclimate to some extent.
Layers are key. A great soft long-sleeve tee with a cotton knit cardigan, soft fluffy pashmina and a coat. Gloves of course and possibly a fuzzy hat if the temp dips. Then there’s the food and drink: soups, stews, warm oatmeal, hot-cocoa, and a shot of something yummy like ginger vodka!
It helps to stay properly hydrated so I try to keep up with my water consumption as usual. Then try to keep the heater as low as comfortable. If I don’t get too warm in my house or car then when I get out into the cold it’s not such a shock. The most wonderful fuzzy faux-fur throw keeps me warm on the sofa. OH and how could I forget boots! a great pair keep the tootsies toasty!
In our house an electric fireplace makes us ‘feel’ cozy even when it’s not putting out heat! Well that’s about all I can think of besides snuggling with a warm baby or significant other!

  22. April says:

This winter, I’ve been big on chunky knit scarves! I love how they add a pop of colour, and how wonderfully soft they feel.

  23. Meredith says:

How do I stay warm? This winter (and every winter-) I follow my dad’s advice from when I was a kid 🙂 I always wear warm socks (SmartWool and Darn Tough are my favorite brands) and a warm hat. I am also a huge fan of scarves year round — colorful and flowy in the summer and chunky knits in the winter!
P.S. To combat serious winter hat-hair issues, I travel with a small tube of Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream!

  24. Alicia says:

Layers and layers! From the frosty midwest air into the overheated classrooms, I can peel down and then add them back on! Topped off with a scarf, I can keep my chic and be toasty!

  25. Ariana A says:

Surprisingly, it’s been a rather chilly winter here in Atlanta. The only thing to do really keep warm is to bundle up in a chic knitted circle scarf and drink hot chocolate.

  26. teddie granville says:

I keep a wee flask of Jameson in my purse – keeps me toasty. And mittens.

  27. ANA CELINA says:

Every winter I try to keep warm wearing a lot of layers, first one always tight and in cotton. I even wear socks in layers! Very important to have something to cover your head and a warm cozy scarf. And a warm long coat on top of all.
I try to drink a lot of vegetable soups and tea (try to stay away from hot chocolate and capuccinos so to still fit in all the above mentioned items…)
But this year I have the most effective solution to keep warm: HEADING DO SUMMER!!! (Brazil to be exact)
