Versace Confirms the Close of U.S. Press Office

January 13, 2010 • Fashion

After a speculative report from WWD on Monday, it has been confirmed today that Versace SpA has decided to close its U.S. press office. The Italian-based luxury label has chosen to outsource it's stateside press efforts to a public relations office. Versace is scheduled to announce today that it has hired PR Consulting, a popular media company within the fashion industry. PR Consulting was founded by Parisian Pierre Rougier in 1997 and is now run by Rougier and Sylvie Picquet Damesme out of New York. Other clients of PR Consulting include Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander, Proenza Schouler and Narciso Rodriguez. Despite the outsourced media efforts, reps for the label have decided to keep the organization of marketing and events in-house.
