Celebrity Style. Golden Globes 2010: On The Wet Carpet

January 18, 2010 • Celebrity Style

A little rain never hurt anyone and it certainly didn’t
damper the spirits of the stylish celebrities who came out for the Golden
Globes
in Los Angeles
last night.  Perhaps Sandra Bullock put
it best when she told all her frothy Bottega Veneta gown was made of plastic
fibers and therefore, waterproof, so she was prepared for the evening without
knowing it.  The celebs who weren’t
carried large umbrellas (some provided by the Beverley Hilton) and even those
seemed regal in the presence of stars who wore Zac Posen, Atelier Versace, and
Gucci on the red carpet.

And of course, even in downpour, the smiles of the evening
were unmatched.

It wasn’t my favorite Golden Globes ever. While there were a few great surprises (Lea
Michele
and Jayma Mays from the Glee cast looked divine for first-timers) and a few frocks
that took my breath away (hello Amy Adams in a short dark green dress that
wrapped around her baby bump,) overall I wasn’t entirely impressed with the
fashion at this year’s Golden Globes.  It
truly left something to be desired

Perhaps the stars are waiting to up the ante for the Oscars
and the Emmys. Whatever the case, here are highlights from the best and the
worst of the evening.

Let’s start with the girls from Glee who were my personal
favorites of the evening. Each one
wanted to be a princess. Wish granted.

And while stylish stars paraded in washed out colors and jeweled tones, draped dresses and too much fluff, there were other stars who also stood out for their fashion, but in not in a good way.
