A little rain never hurt anyone and it certainly didn’t
damper the spirits of the stylish celebrities who came out for the Golden
last night. Perhaps Sandra Bullock put
it best when she told all her frothy Bottega Veneta gown was made of plastic
fibers and therefore, waterproof, so she was prepared for the evening without
knowing it. The celebs who weren’t
carried large umbrellas (some provided by the Beverley Hilton) and even those
seemed regal in the presence of stars who wore Zac Posen, Atelier Versace, and
Gucci on the red carpet.
And of course, even in downpour, the smiles of the evening
Michele and Jayma Mays from the Glee cast looked divine for first-timers) and a few frocks
that took my breath away (hello Amy Adams in a short dark green dress that
wrapped around her baby bump,) overall I wasn’t entirely impressed with the
fashion at this year’s Golden Globes. It
truly left something to be desired
Perhaps the stars are waiting to up the ante for the Oscars
and the Emmys. Whatever the case, here are highlights from the best and the
worst of the evening.
Let’s start with the girls from Glee who were my personal
favorites of the evening. Each one
wanted to be a princess. Wish granted.
Dianna Agron in Badgley Mischka
Jayma Mays in Badgley Mischka
Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta
Amy Adams in Carolina Herrera
Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana
Fergie in Elie Saab
Ginnifer Goodwin in Vionnet
Marion Cotillard in Dior
Kate Hudson in Marchesa
January Jones in Lanvin
Dianne Kruger in Christian Lacroix Haute Couture
Sandra Bullock in Bottega Veneta

Christina Hendrickson in Christian Siriano
Rose Byrne in Lanvin
Kristin Bell in Jasmine di Milo
Christina Aguilera in Atelier Versace
Julianne Moore in Balenciaga
Nicole Kidman in Nina Ricci
Drew Barrymore in Atelier Versace w/ Lorraine Schwartz diamonds
And while stylish stars paraded in washed out colors and jeweled tones, draped dresses and too much fluff, there were other stars who also stood out for their fashion, but in not in a good way.
Anna Kendrick in a Curtain Marchesa
Alfre Woodard in Pamella Roland that doesn't quite fit her properly.
Heather Graham exuding some bad posture in Elie Saab
Tina Fey tends to her sheep like Lil Bo Peep in her Zac Posen
Did Zoe Saldana get drenched on? Oh wait, that's just her Louis Vuitton dress!
Such a stunning actress, such a poor choice. Jessica Lange in Zac Posen.
