If there is one man that knows the way a woman moves and contorts, this man would be none other than Georges Chakra. And with his second ready to wear line,"Edition by Georges Chakra" Fall 2010, he will prove again how far deep his talents run.
The latest innovative and inspiring edition from Beirut-based Lebanese couturier Chakra will be making its initial debut at the Paris Fashion Show next Monday, and then making its way stateside at New York Fashion Week in Byrant Park this February. Since 2002, Chakra has been presenting twice a year his Haute couture collection in Paris.
Using Yves Saint Laurent as a muse of sorts, Chakra draws much of his inspiration from the same kinds of color and fabric combinations. And though every season is considered a risk, his collections never fail to impress the masses. From flowy pastels and chiffon to leathers and Swarovski crystals, each design follows the contours of the woman's body to form a shapely silhouette. The Spring 2010 show proved just that. They show the wearer that there is a way of wearing an ensemble that is classic yet futuristic at the same time.
This has not gone unnoticed by those who show his dresses to the public. Chakra has dressed some fashion starlets like Katy Perry, Tyra Banks and Fergie, with his collection even making a starring role in "The Devil Wears Prada."
His collections can be found across the USA including Wynn Las Vegas, Neiman Marcus and Esti's in Brooklyn. There are also more details at his website, georgeschakra.com.
