When I think of the word velvet, I think of my third grade teacher’s vest she wore while teaching me cursive, or watching my mom get ready in a shoulder-padded, floor-length dress as a kid. Never would I have thought that I would own pieces of this soft, yet thick and irresistible fabric.

That’s the crazy thing about fashion. You should never throw something out because realistically it could always creep its way out of the grave and back into our closets.

Who knew the skinny jean, shoulder pads or bohemian attitude would come back. Oh, but it did and with a never-ending bang!

I own a bejeweled, black, velvet satchel that I cannot help but proudly parade around. I also have this fitted, long-sleeved, black velvet dress that works magically with a nude 5” heel and dramatic necklace to secure the swooping, oval neck of the dress.

Check these following pieces out and follow celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian!

Velvet’s great stuff, I’m not sure why more people aren’t wearing it.

  3. Mere exposure to English doesn’t work; you have to blurt out a larger number of usefull sentences.
