The nicer side of dramatic fashion television just got "auf"ed.
Ugly Betty, once an ABC hit and in the middle of its fourth season, was canceled yesterday. The show had once gained a promising following after three seasons, but proved to be vulnerable when it was moved from Thursday, to Friday, then to Wednesday nights, all in a matter of the last two seasons.
The show also guest starred many fashion icons including Tim Gunn, Issac Mizrahi, Joe Zee from Elle magazine, and Victoria Beckham.
But don't worry! Fans can at least expect a happy ending. Executive producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson released a joint statement Wednesday.
“We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”
Where will I be able to see Becki Newton's style choices now?!
