My New Denim Obsession: Not Your Daughter’s Jeans

February 1, 2010 • Fashion

Ever since I had my baby 3 months ago, I have been dying to wear my jeans, but alas…they don't fit. I'm not a celeb so needless to say, my body is not rock solid. I  NYDJ Product Images 006 have 20 lbs I want to lose. When I was told about Not Your Daughter’s Jeans, I thought "No Way! I am so not ever going to wear Mom jeans." In fact, even my mother who is over 60 wears the 7 For All Mankind jeans I gave her several Christmases ago and she still rocks them!

I checked out the Not Your Daughter’s Jeans site an was surprised to find the selection resembled what has been folded and stored in a giant box underneath my bed. Founded in 2003, Not Your Daughter’s Jeans caters to “real” women looking for fashionable denim with a flattering fit. I guess I'm not alone as the company identified a growing demand for jeans that don't ride too low or give us that dreaded 'muffin top.' Not Your Daughter’s Jeans has developed a unique proprietary fit achieved through the brand’s patented Lift Tuck™ technology, which flattens the stomach, contours the hips and lifts the derriere. The jeans employ a combination of blended fabrics, criss-cross stitching, reinforced pockets and an increased rise. Are you serious? These I had to try!

I picked a super dark straight leg pair with no stitching on the pockets and what can I say? I LOVE them! They feel more like pajama bottoms than constricting jeans. Not only that, I swear I look 10 lbs. lighter and my stomach pre-pregnancy flat. I'm sold! I have not had them off my body since (except to wash them). In fact, I can't wait to get a few more pairs and even when I DO get back to my fighting weight, I'm never going to give these up. I'll just get a smaller size.

Available in misses, petites and plus sizes, Not Your Daughter’s Jeans are made in the United States using the highest standards and attention to detail. Each pair comes complete with a disclaimer that reads “Not Your Daughter’s Jeans cannot be held responsible for any positive consequence that may arise due to your fabulous appearance when wearing our jeans."
