Sonia Rykiel Joined H&M Because of Knock-Offs?

February 5, 2010 • Fashion

Well here's something you don't hear everyday: a designer collaborating because of the knock-offs!

Sonia Rykiel paired with H&M last season to create a new line of lingerie. Nathalie Rykiel, the company's creative director and daughter of Sonia, told Nylon magazine that the reason for joining was because H&M copied their look!

Nathalie explained while she was in New York to promote for the new Sonia Rykiel for H&M knitwear collection. "Well, yes, of course!  They copy me all the time!" she said. " Finally I said, "Look, if you want your girls to wear Sonia Rykiel from H&M, let's let them have the real thing!"

Well, there's a first time for everything…
