Summary: The unique venue for the presentation of Alice +Olivia's fall '10 line was enough to set the show apart from most others. Set up in the circus tent space of club Provocateur, guests were instantly transported to a whimsical fairytale-like where indoor trees twinkled overhead and outfitted nymphs draped themselves around the room. Despite the overcrowded space, it was advantageous to be so close to the models and see the fabric, texture, and embellishment that Alice + Olivia's Stacey Bendet has made a name for herself for. Made up of mostly fun and flirty party dresses, the fall '10 collection also included a few fall staples like leggings in leather and sateen, a crisp gray suit, and bedazzled blazers. Bendet's imagination ultimately shone through her bread and butter— a wealth of ethereal dresses that ranged from wispy and light with delicate ruffles, to metallic numbers with structured bodices and piles of gleaming folds. Bendet provided a chic and effortless array of easy to throw on (and more importantly, easy to layer) pieces that were as much fun to meander through and witness, as I'm sure they will be to wear.
