Summary:  A bold, instrumental version of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir was playing as I, among others, walked procession-like around the beautifully lit room, viewing the collection on models, each on their own pillar-like platform. Catherine Malandrino's Fall/Winter 2010 Collection, named 'Khan" is based on her vision of earth from above and its constantly changing and varied landscape. "The woman who inhabits this world must simultaneously embody strength, ease and raw femininity." Skins, warmth, wraps, comfort and elaborate texture were abound! Layers of legging, sweaters, cropped pants, embroidery, crocheted elements and draping were all worn on very tall platform shoes, also by Malandrino. The models wore bold cuffs and large tribal bell beaded necklaces. Some had suede wraps around their ankles, an interesting accessory that complemented the sky-high shoes. The bags were huge, messenger-style, slung across the body and loaded with textures, woven leathers and fringe. The combination of shorts or cropped pants with tights and fur coats curiously looked just right. There was a lot going on regarding texture and embellishments with this collection, yet everything managed to look easy-to-wear and totally effortless.
