Britney Spears is back for another year with Candie’s Only at Kohl’s, breaking the company’s ritual of choosing a new spokesmodel each year. Spears has had her wicked past, however, I think we can all agree she’s made a complete turnaround and this innocent ad campaign doesn’t hurt.
According to Dari Marder, chief marketing officer of Iconix Brand Group Inc., which owns Candie’s, Spears continues to emulate the “Candie’s girl.”
Past campaigns have featured Fergie, Hilary Duff and Jenny McCarthy, but sales with Spears were among the highest. “It’s hard to pinpoint whether the sales are from marketing or pricing but it was one of our best years,” Marder noted of 2009.
Spears was shot through the lens of three photographers: Annie Leibovitz, Terry Richardson and Mark Seliger. The ads will launch with a four-page insert in the April issue of Seventeen and a one-page ad in Teen Vogue.
I’m all for the new Spears and commend her for spinning right back into the Britney we all know and love!
