The Alexander McQueen fashion label will continue to live on.
It was announced today that the brand that it will continue on with the Alexander McQueen trademark after his death was ruled a suicide by hanging.
Robert Polet, the president of PPR's Gucci Group under which McQueen worked for, said that the autumn/winter collection that the designer finished before his death would be shown at Paris Fashion week next month. It is still not known who will replace McQueen as the head of the company.
“His art went beyond the fashion world. He had a great command of technique . . . he hid behind an armour of provocation,” Francois-Henri Pinault, the president of PPR, explained.
“Fashion has lost one of its extraordinary people. He was one of the falling stars that comes across our generation.”
