Madonna and her daughter Lourdes in 2009
Every day Madonna comes closer to actually making that collection. Rumors have been around for the last month or so about this phantom line, and now, it's finally becoming a reality.
The pop icon and the brand management firm Iconix Brand Group Inc. revealed the joint venture called MG Icon LLC, which is ready to bring you multiple fashion related projects across America and around the world. MG Icon will be 50 percent owned by Iconix and 50 percent by Madonna and her longtime manager (as well as the "G" in the title), Guy Oseary.
The first project is the juniors' line called "Material Girl", launching exclusively at Macy's in August. The line is also close to announcing a collaboration with a designer label for a co-branded eyewear collection.
Some more rumors for you: some possible future collaborations between the Madonna and other Iconix brands, could be Danskin and (god forbid) Ed Hardy. Let's hope Ed Hardy is never involved any collaboration with anything in life. They can do tacky on their own.
