Beauty Buzz. I Chopped My Hair and I Think I Like It!

Davide Torchio Salon

So last Friday I let Davide Torchio chop my hair. It was time. I had been thinking about it for awhile and now that my son yanks it constantly I had to take the plunge. With the support of my husband, I went for it. I met Davide Torchio during Fashion Week where he gave me the most amazing pin-straight blow out. So I thought I would leave my major hair change in his capable hands and made my way to his salon on the Upper East Side.

I announced on Twitter I was going to do it, so there was no turning back, but I have to admit, I got a little nervous right before the first cut. It has been almost 10 years since my hair was above my shoulders.

Davide was wonderful. Before he started on my hair he asked me questions about my lifestyle to help him determine what would work best for me. I need to have wash and wear hair since I am lucky if I have 3 minutes to style it these days. I also work out a lot and must be able to pull it back. We decided on a bob which was longer in the front than the back and would look good either blown out straight or my natural curly.

Here we go:

Can I change my mind?

It's too late now!

OK, so far so good. But I can't stop the death grip on the chair.

Twittering during my blowout!

Finishing touches, but I'm still doing the death grip on the chair!

With Davide Torchio and my finished cut…notice I am smiling!

The salon is very light and clean, and I had a wonderful afternoon! I will be back…and yes, I like my hair curly too. I'm still smiling.
