W Magazine’s Search for a New Editor-in-Chief Continues

March 22, 2010 • Fashion

On Wednesday, it was announced that W Magazine would leave the Fairchild Fashion Group to move to Conde Nast. Executive editor Bridget Foley and editorial director Patrick McCarthy of both WWD and W will now work for WWD exclusively. So, that means that W will now have to find an editor-in-chief in the next couple of months.

This morning, WWD.com announced five names at the top of everyone's list of future WWD editors. WWD's pick would be editorial director of Conde Nast Thomas J. Wallace.

One of the big ones swirling around the internet is Stefano Tonchi, editor of T: The New York Times Style, though it was rumored earlier that he would end up at Vogue. Others on the list include the editor in chief at French Vogue Carine Roitfeld, Katie Grand of Love Magazine, Adam Moss of New York Magazine and Jay Fielden, formerly of Men's Vogue.

The Conde Nast subgroup consists of trade publications, WWD, WWD.com, Footwear News, conferences, Fairchild Books and trade shows.
