Stefano Tonchi has been confirmed as the new editor-in chief at W magazine and is wasting no time in grabbing hold of the reigns, though his official start date is not until April 12. Having scheduled meetings with various teams of operation throughout this week, Tonchi's reported plan is to “observe” the staff as they finish the June issue and then oversee the July book. Insiders are already claiming to expect a full redesign to debut in September for the publication's annual Fashion Issue. Meanwhile, architects and contractors will be visiting current W staffers to assess their cubicle and closet needs—when applicable—at their new office space at 1166 Avenue of the Americas. Does this mean the possible end of the mag's trademarked gritty nature? No more scantily clad celebs draped over each other in a provocative yet still high fashion manner? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Changes have definitely come to the W office; we're just hoping they turn out to be good ones….
