Me and Jess Atkins

InStyle Magazine's Jess Atkins was on hand to give out some fashion tips for the 2010 Spring/Summer season. Co-partnering with Maybelline, Atkins shared some of the big ensemble changes to come around for the sunniest days of the year.

"We are seeing a lot of color this year," Atkins explained. "A lot of vibrant pinks and oranges. Any warm colors that will brighten up the face. " This will help contrast against the last few months that were ridden with nudes, blacks and whites… not that those will be going out of style anytime soon. "Black and white is still big, but they will be used as pieces to help the vibrant colors pop out."

Animal and graphic prints will be huge this year. Just make sure not to lay it on too thick. One print will be enough for the whole outfit. Anything else will look like overkill and/or roadkill.

On the accessories front, anything goes. From bangles to statement necklaces, you want to pile it on. "Pearls are a really classic piece this year," Atkins explained. "It makes any outfit classier in seconds." As for shoes, gladiator sandals continue to complete almost all casual fashionable ensembles.

So in a nutshell, "soft, bold and vibrant" is the way to be this year… as if you would have it any other way!
