We admit we're still coming to terms with the fact that we actually love both of the Olsen twins' lines, Elizabeth and James, and The Row. The twins' venture into design has resulted in a success so seismically different than just about every other flash in the pan actress who wanted to play designer for a day. We just can't help but give them props. So its with a hopeful anticipation (and not an eye-roll) that we learned they'll be expanding their influence into jewelry. That is to say, expanding it further. In 2008, the Olsens teamed up with jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris for an exclusive collection of gold and silver jewelry called Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James. The twins seemingly liked the line so much they wanted to make it a permanent fixture under their label. So, starting this fall, a new line will appear under the Elizabeth and James brand name. Robert Lee Morris’ parent corporation, Clover, will continue to produce
the pieces, but now the Olsens have free reign to take over more of the creative side.
The metals collection, called The Bar, will include double-finger rings in silver, gold and some with
strands of pavé diamonds. There will also sleek pendants and sporty gold
and silver bangles, perfectly complementary with the minimalist pieces of the apparel line. The precious stones collection, called The Crest, plays on a kaleidoscopic print seen in the ready to wear line, with silver crests inlaid with
sapphires, and diamonds in a vintage, Art Deco style. The collection will retail
from $55 to $1,200 and sell at Bergdorf Goodman, Shopbop,
neimanmarcus.com and saks.com with the Elizabeth and James Fall 2010 collection.
