If you want a vintage aesthetic without the kitschy, costume-y feel, A Little Wicked is the store for you. Sisters Robyn and Bianca Moreno opened the shop on New York’s Lower East Side last fall, and style mavens have been clamoring for their reasonably priced vintage, reworked vintage and private label clothes ever since. Service is outstanding, with the stylist/designer duo at the ready — glass of wine in hand — to help you tease out your personal style or find the outfit that makes you look so good your ex-boyfriend cries when he sees you. “We’re basically your personal stylists,” said Robyn.

Claim to fame: While they carry many vintage items as-is, they also alter some of their finds; a shortened hem, adjusted sleeves, embellishments or better tailoring can take a 1960s dress from laughable to luxe.

Caveats: Purists may turn up their noses at reworking pieces, but then again, they’re the ones who end up look like that 50’s-loving, feline-flinging, Project Runway reject, aren’t they?

Style philosophy: “Style doesn’t have to be expensive. It can be really affordable, and it’s all about making your own personal style. [Vintage] is a great way to be super individual.”

No rummaging through bins of musty duds here! Clothing is well edited and beautifully arranged.

Great selection, great environment, great prices. A must-shop!
