Lights highlighted Loft on Lake, venue of the 312 Fashion Runway Series, Friday night and as its doors swung open with daring fashionistas pouring in, the music’s pulse found its way to the streets. It was alive with laughter and organic cocktails, but most of all, perfecting itself behind the sheer curtains, the sole factor that allured the mingling bodies, hid the Lara Miller Fall 2010 Collection.
An hour before the show, while sipping the cocktails provided by Casa Noble and Fuze, guests admired and purchased exclusive merchandise by Lara Miller, all of which are made of eco-friendly fibers such as organic cotton, hand-loomed bamboo, hemp and vegan silk.
Then at 8:30 guest were seated and with each crossed leg, shoes of all sorts from sky-high studded platforms and Christian Louboutin suede booties, to black lace-up combat boots and brown Oxfords bobbed up and down to the beat of the music, eager for what was to come.
One after another, models walked into the showroom, strutted down the u-shaped runway and stood before a wooden plank, where they transformed one Lara Miller design into a completely different look: two for the price of one!
Most of the Lara Miller Fall 2010 pieces could be recreated by a simple tug on a string and pulling the draping over your head or around your side. A baggy, sleeveless wrap-up was renovated into an oversized cloak that covered the bare shoulders and hung shy of the models naval. Each altered piece wowed the crowd and with each model’s second turn around the runway, the applause grew louder with astonishment.
