Jacqueline Zenn for Second City Style Magazine
Ah, spring. The time of year when florals and pastels start to rule
the racks, and a girl’s thoughts start to turn to pretty chiffon frocks
and delicate jeweled sandals. However, what if you’re just not that kind
of girl? The same pieces that look rock chick cool in the fall and
winter can look out of place in warm weather, but it is possible to keep
your edgy downtown look without melting in the heat.
Start with the shoes. Gladiators like these dramatic Pour
La Victoire numbers might be the ideal choice, but boots (now
is the time to wear those peep-toe booties) can work provided it is not
overly warm out.
Add a bag with the proper details. Think studs, zippers, and
other bold hardware. Think rich pebbled leather, think deep colors and
of course, shades of gray and black. This DKNY
chain-trimmed shoulder bag most definitely fits the bill.
