Fashion seems to be taking some unexpected twists and turns, and we all somehow need to keep our bums glued to the seats of this rollercoaster! Denim-on-denim has been a no-no for quite some time, but the fashion world has changed its mind and wants the double-duty approach back.

There’s always a science to fixing together trendy outfits and according to Patrick Robinson, a design alumnus of Armani and Perry Ellis who now is creative director of the Gap, there’s a trick to it!

“You don’t want to look like you’re wearing the same denim on top as on the bottom,” Robinson said.

Mix up the washes! Take a worn-out, distressed, light jeans jacket, throw on a pair of boyfriend dark jeans that’s tightened with a dark brown belt and tuck a baggy, white v-neck into the belt!

Nothing too formal with this trend, but a more casual look will help you pull this off safely. I know it’ll take me some time getting used to, but with the right shades, styles and fits this trend can be a success!
