Presented in Karl-Vision

Only Karl Lagerfeld can outdo the Cannes Film Festival.

Lagerfeld showed his 17-minute film, "Remember Now" last night right before he unveils Chanel's 2010 cruise collection tonight. "Remember Now" shows the "good-natured summer hedonism" of the playground of the rich and beautiful through a his Rolls Royce Coupe mini-roadtrip.

Though the film has a script, it is mostly based on the vision in Lagerfeld's head. “Karl is a very spontaneous and creative director,” said Elisa Sednaoui, who appears in the film alongside French actor Pascal Greggory, model Heidi Mount and, for the nightclub scenes at the VIP Room of the Cinema de la Renaissance, about 100 extras. “There’s a script, but it’s basically Karl telling you what he wants,” Heidi Mount continued. “He has the whole thing up in his head.”

“When I do a film, I see the movie before I’ve made it,” Lagerfeld said. “I don’t make scripts because it’s written in my head. I like short one-liners.”
