Every now and then I can’t resist compiling a favorites list. Sometimes the items are as simple as a striped blazer or a comfortable flat, other times it’s an out-of-my-league piece of jewelry. It’s not so much a catalog of shopping items, but more a storyboard of inspiration. Enjoy!

Well Heeled
I don’t have $1,000 to spend on a pair of shoes, but if I did, I would purchase a pair of Fendi Python-Effect Leather Sandals ($930 at The coral and nude combined with a python print really packs a punch, and will dress up your denim or any LBD. For a more casual look, I’d go with the ankle strap cork wedge by Stella McCartney, an eco-friendly sandal constructed of faux suede, natural gum rubber and cork ($735 at

Simply Sweet
Lately, I’ve seen Karen Walker clothing, jewelry and eyewear popping up in every magazine and receiving nothing but rave reviews. I concur. I love both her Spring and Fall collections this year, especially her fun prints perfect for the seaside this summer and refined ruffles for fall. Look for her pieces at Barney’s Co-Op stateside, on e-tailers like or shop her boutique if you’re fortunate enough to be in New Zealand anytime soon.

Snake Charmer
When I walk into a store and see Rebecca Minkoff handbags, I don’t just want one, I want them ALL. Now that she has a clothing line, I’m in really big trouble (but I’ll save that for a future column). This month I’m coveting the Python Passion Clutch (yes, I have a thing for reptiles right now), a sweet little handbag with leather trim, gunmetal hardware and detachable chain shoulder strap ($295 at

A Ray of Sun

Many people don’t realize that Kate Spade is no longer behind Kate Spade, but that doesn’t mean the line doesn’t still have an irresistible spark. The collection’s playful dresses and fun separates are definitely wearable and completely unique. I’m loving the pencil skirt with layers like petals ($295 at I’d pair with a light gray tank and nude shoes (or another bright like coral or teal if you dare).

Flirty and Flattering

Where would I ever wear the Tory Burch Panzi dress? I have no idea. Who cares?! It’s a fabulous modern take on sequins that screams “take me to a party!” $695 at
